Creative Ribbons: Candles and Decorating

Candles and ribbons go hand-in-hand and can dress up any drab corner you might have.

Ribbons are a great way to fancy up those old, dusty candles you might have on your mantel or bookshelf. And, most everyone has a least one candle somewhere around their home. They can be such a fun decoration! Here are a few ways to use them around your house and make it feel homier.

Ribbon candles are perfect for creating pretty table centerpieces. Make them for birthday presents, wedding decorations or just because you want to. Candles and ribbons go great with nearly every setting. Other uses could include bookends, temporary lighting or anything you can think up!

Adding personalized or colored ribbon to any candle is a great way to add character without too much expense. From wide width ribbon to smaller widths that are layered, you can create almost any look! Choose from satin, grosgrain or even organza to customize your candle. And, add an embellishment such as a rosette or button to hide the seam or any small defects in ribbon you might already have on hand.

Over 60 NEW Ribbon Colors!

Yup, that’s a lot of new ribbon colors! And it’s exciting to update and extend our product lines!

As ribbons continue to get more and more popular each year, the demand to keep up with trends is an ever-pressing issue. And, to keep up, we are always updating our ribbon colors.

Most of the time, these colors only change for our ribbon rolls, but sometimes it includes classic ribbons and rosette ribbons. For now, the color changes seem to only apply to our ribbon rolls.

Here is a short review of the all updates coming soon to the ribbon colors for ribbon rolls. (The added humor is from our talented graphic artist, Melanie Bunch!)

Single Face Satin: We added 21 new colors! And many of them are quite nice (a few are disgusting). None of the old colors went away, so we’re up to 123 glorious Single Face Satin ribbon colors! That quiet weeping you hear from our marketing department is Melanie trying to make the difference between “Mud Pie” and “Milk Chocolate” show up correctly on a computer screen.

Single Face Satin Fashion Colors: We added eight new colors! We removed four colors and upgraded them to the regular Single Face Satin color list. If you’re wondering what the difference is, “fashion colors” only come in 3/8″ ribbon width. Having those four colors move to the regular list means they are now available in the other widths as well. They must have been popular.

Double Face Satin: We added four neon colors and one bright blue!

All DYNA Satin colors will be staying the same.

Chiffon – Organza: We added 22 colors! This means they now have something known as “selection.” One thing to remember when looking at these color charts is that while that is the color, it doesn’t look like that. Since the ribbon is a fine see-through mesh, it generally will appear lighter in person than what you see on the chart.

Grosgrain: We added seven new colors! LaRosa, Blue, Copen, Neon Hot Pink, Neon Lime, Neon Yellow, Neon Tangerine.

Floral Satin Acetate: The shade of pink known as “Shock” is discontinued, but we added two new shades of purple! These new colors are “Purple” and “Plum.”

Custom Ribbon Definitions: Part 5

These definitions will provide the difference between stock items and custom items. And what you need to know about ordering each kind.

Most of our ribbon types (classic and rosette) come with two options. Custom and Stock. Sometimes, trying to figure out what you need can be a struggle.

We’ve already covered the following about ribbon text definitions:

Ribbon Titles
We often refer to ribbon titles for our pre-imprinted ribbons. A title is the word(s) that is imprinted on a ribbon. They are available as stock items on our website. Titles are words such as sponsor, president, staff, visitor or member. Each ribbon type we offer comes with varying available titles; see each order page for details. These ribbons are ready to ship the same day you place your order.

Custom Text
Most ribbons are also available with custom text. This means that instead of using pre-imprinted titles, you can provide your own text. This text can range from titles that you don’t see on the list to names or other messages. You can choose your own font and color to match your ribbon choice. Design each of these ribbons with or without a logo.

Stock Ribbons

From there, let’s cover what “stock” means. “Stock” refers to an item that is already imprinted with titles and text and will ship immediately for your use. Stock items are available as classic, badge and rosette ribbons. They have set colors when ordering. For example, the rosette place ribbon for “Grand Prize” is only available as a mustard color. And the “Special” rosette place ribbon is multicolor red, white and blue. Badge ribbons are typically available in two colors for each title.

Custom Ribbons

All “custom” ribbons are made specifically for one customer as per their order. Custom order all of our ribbons. This means that you can design your ribbon; whether it be a classic, rosette or ribbon roll; to meet your needs. Design them with names, dates, titles and sometimes full-color logos or graphics.
